This apartment on the Upper West Side was filled with art and endless treasures collected over the years by my clients. While it’s always a thrill when a client has an abundance of art, it can be daunting to siphon through what stays and then, how it’s displayed. To help make each piece feel special, I created unique builtin shelving, with every cubby made to measure to hold everything, from my client’s beloved cookie jars to all of the objects of beauty found during travels. The Art Deco lines of the chrome and leather club chairs and tweed sofa keep the art & objet feeling elevated. The primary bedroom was painted in two different tones of green, and they butt up to the warmest blue ceiling creating almost a Rothko-like effect. Helpful when laying in bed staring at the walls.
