When my clients moved within their TriBeCa building, they wanted to somehow meld the quintessential New York loft space with a more Parisian aesthetic. I painted the entry in a ballet pink lacquer and filled it with strong art deco-style furnishings. The living space is expansive and white, but wherever the eye lands, there is something of beauty to see, from the small, unique objects on the ottoman to the Jan Yoors charcoal works. The dining area was filled with pieces that looked like they were found in a French flea market, including the glass art fixture over the table that’s illuminated by the candles below, and the linen-clad bookcases topped with crown molding. Color-wise this is one of my favorite palettes. It’s both bold and calm, like a New York City loft melding with a Parisian home.
