This unassuming ranch house is nestled deep in the woods of Connecticut. Built towards the middle of the last century as an addition to a rustic 1905 hunting lodge, much work and construction was needed to bring it back to its original glory. Large slate-like porcelain slabs were laid for the flooring, and walnut cabinets were built to fit the kitchen. We kept the long hallway’s original cedar display cubbies and had them wired to light each magical object we found. In the lodge, a more eclectic, bohemian style approach was taken, creating a family room with endless seating, all anchored by the original floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace.
