Well, I have to say, I am really pleased with how the kitchen turned out. Although it is begging for a Saarinen table in the nook in front of that window, I think that the space is pretty good to go. And speaking of the window, again: That view! Replacing the old window with the new picture window really did wonders, no?
Some of my favorite things from the renovation are in the kitchen. I have a huge crush on the “Hershey Kiss” drop pendant, which I wanted to get so the kitchen would look modern and not too basic with the simple lines of the white laminate cabinets.
I also love the Parq Faucet from Kohler, which I think was well worth the splurge. And last, after all the drama with the cabinet handles, I am so pleased with how they turned out. I think they look great, although the pic above shows the wonky handle one of the workers put on wrong. It’s the thin pull out drawer next to the shelves. The new door has been ordered and that handle will go on horizontally aligned with the other drawers. Perfection takes time, people.
Again, here are some reminders of where this kitchen started:
It was a lot of work, there were a few bumps along the way, but we came in on time, and they are already showing the apartment. Hopefully this kitchen, along with the rest of the apartment, will make someone very happy for a very long time. They should call me to decorate (if you don’t think I’ve been fantasizing about exactly what I’d do, you’re crazy.).
