IMG_1654I Make an inspiration-or mood-board when I feel I’m in a design rut. There is something Zen about flipping thru magazines, and cutting out the images that catch your eye. There is also great satisfaction in then tossing the magazines to make room for the new ones.

A mood board lets you hone your taste. It allows you to see what you are attracted to, and when you are starting the long process of decorating, it is imperative so that you are not floundering with too many ideas. On a side note, I recommend not using catalogs for inspiration, if possible. That way, your board also acts as a dreamboard of sorts, giving you a calling to the universe of attracting swanky high-end shit into your life. Killing two birds, people. Xo.
